Welcome to the Diva Information System (DIS) help website. DIS is a manufacturing sytem designed specifically for the food industry. It was initially developed by Seriti Software for Diva Nutritional Products Pty (Ltd.) to meet the stringent requirements of HACCP traceability. It has since grown into a fully fledged manufacturing system and thanks to the foresight of Diva is a 100% GPL open source project. The future of all software is opensource and we intend to create the definitive food manufacturing system for small to medium sized businesses (SME's).
Technology
DIS is written in Delphi 7 with a MySQL database using the Zeoslib database components. This combination has proved to be extremely stable and fast. The application can happily run over the internet with a central database server with even an entry level broadband connection (384Kb/s) being more than sufficient for most tasks. The database is typically installed on a linux server (we reccommend the ubuntu distro ) but will run happily on a windows server or PC.
